Description

The oaken key is a members item in RuneScape 3. It opens Raz's stash, a chest in Raz's hut northeast of Wendlewick in Havenhythe. Players find the key while chopping trees and creeping ivy in Havenhythe, killing sanguine crawlers, or emptying birdhouses. The key is tradeable and weighs almost nothing.

Opening the chest gives one random reward. The chest can hold herb seeds like ranarr, snapdragon, toadflax, and wendlewick seeds. It can also give wood spirits, stone spirits, bird's nests, honeycomb, bowstrings, ashes, an adamant hatchet, a rune hatchet, or an off-hand dragon longsword. The reward screen lets players bank the reward, take it noted or unnoted, or leave it behind.

Using an oaken key on Raz's stash also completes the achievement called Oaken Sesame. Raz will stop and talk to the player on their first and tenth keys with special dialogue.

The oaken key is a good pick for players who want herb seeds for farming, spirits for skilling, or a quick shot at rare gear. It also helps achievement hunters check Oaken Sesame off their list.
