The onyx necklace is a members-only piece of jewellery in RuneScape 3. It is made by using a gold bar, an onyx, and a necklace mould on a furnace. Even though it uses a gold bar, the necklace is fully black. Making it takes level 82 Crafting and gives 120 Crafting experience.
The main reason players want this necklace is enchanting. At level 87 Magic, members can use the Lvl-6 Enchant spell or a Lvl-6 enchant tablet to turn it into a berserker necklace. The spell uses 1 cosmic rune, 20 fire runes, and 20 earth runes.
The necklace is tradeable, equipable, and noteable. It weighs only 0.01 kg. It has no combat stat requirements and gives no combat bonuses on its own. It can also be dropped by Menaphite gift offerings in small, medium, and large sizes.
Players can disassemble the necklace too. It gives 24.6 Disassembly XP and 5 materials, with a base junk chance of 1.7%. Possible materials include delicate parts, connector parts, smooth parts, precious components, and enhancing components. This makes it useful for Invention training as well as enchanting.
