Description

The orikalkum bar is a metal bar in RuneScape 3. It is made with the Smithing skill by smelting one orichalcite ore and one drakolith. You can smelt it at a furnace or with the Superheat Item spell. You need level 60 Smithing, and each bar gives 13 Smithing experience. At level 62, you have a chance to smelt an extra bar without using more ores. Smelting also gets faster at levels 61 and 65.

Orikalkum bars are used at an anvil to make orikalkum gear. Each bar used gives 350 Smithing experience. Orikalkum equipment is tier 60 to 63 tank armour and weapons. It takes 96 bars to fully upgrade a full set of armour, or 112 bars if you also upgrade the kiteshield. The gear is very light. A full set with a shield weighs only 70 grams.

This item is members-only, tradeable, and noteable. It can also be disassembled for Simple parts or Crafted parts. In game lore, orikalkum is the hard, dark red metal the dragonkin used to make dragon armour and weapons. It is tougher than adamant but no heavier than light steel.
