Description
Orichalcite ore is a mining resource in RuneScape 3. Players mine it from orichalcite rocks, which need level 60 Mining. It is a members only ore. With higher Mining levels and better pickaxes, players can mine it faster.
The main use for orichalcite ore is smithing. At a furnace, one orichalcite ore combines with one drakolith to make an orikalkum bar. This needs level 60 Smithing. Orikalkum bars can be smithed into orikalkum crushing weapons and armour. The ore can also be smelted with the Superheat Item spell, which uses a Nature rune and 4 Fire runes.
Orichalcite ore can be stored in an ore box. An orikalkum ore box or higher holds 100 of this ore, and that number grows with higher Mining levels and certain achievements. The ore can also be used in Divination. At level 71, it can be transmuted into necrite ore with lustrous energy.
Buying orichalcite ore saves time spent at the rocks. It is a smart pick for players who want to train Smithing or craft orikalkum gear without the long grind of mining it themselves.
