Description

Praesulic essence (magic) is an item in RuneScape 3. It is essence taken from Virtus armour, which is dropped by Nex. Players use this essence to craft some of the best magic gear in the game.

This essence is used to make elite tectonic armour, a tier 92 magic armour. It is also used to make the pearlescent substrate, a key part of Masterwork magic equipment. It is the magic version of praesulic essence, next to the ranged and melee types.

The essence is made by breaking down Virtus equipment at a dragonkin anvil in the Dragon Forge. This needs level 99 Runecrafting and the Relight My Fire achievement. Each piece gives a set amount. A Virtus robe top gives 5 essence, robe legs give 3, the mask gives 2, and the gloves and boots each give 1. Degraded pieces often give less. Breaking down augmented pieces does not return gizmos or give Invention experience.

Praesulic essence (magic) is tradeable. It cannot be worn, stacked, or disassembled. It is a smart pick for players who want elite tectonic or Masterwork magic gear without hunting for Virtus drops themselves.
