Refined Magic planks are Construction materials in RuneScape 3. They are made at the sawmill in Fort Forinthry, next to Bill. You need level 80 Construction to make them, and the sawmill unlocks after the New Foundations quest.
Each Refined Magic plank set is made from 4 Magic planks. Making a set takes 2.4 seconds and gives 116 Construction experience. Their main use is building Magic frames. Each frame needs 3 Refined Magic planks and gives 522 Construction experience.
Buying Refined Magic planks saves you time. You skip the trip to the sawmill and the cost of raw Magic planks. That means you can start building frames and training Construction right away. Note that Protean planks cannot be used to make refined planks, so real planks are the only way.
The item is tradeable and noteable, and each plank weighs 0.8 kg. It can also be disassembled for Invention, giving mostly Simple parts with a small chance of Variable components. If you want fast Construction experience in Fort Forinthry, Refined Magic planks are a key material to stock up on.
