Description
The rune kiteshield is a tier 50 melee shield in RuneScape 3. It goes in the shield slot and needs level 50 Defence to wear. It gives 170 armour and cuts damage from monsters by 5 percent. This makes it a solid pick for players who want strong defence at mid levels.
The shield can be upgraded at a forge and anvil with more rune bars. Each upgrade raises its armour. At plus 3 it reaches tier 53 with 185.6 armour.
Players with level 43 Crafting can paint the shield at a player-owned house. This turns it into a heraldic shield with a family crest from Sir Renitee. Painted shields are untradeable and the crest cannot be removed. There are 16 crest designs to pick from.
The shield can also be taken apart for Invention. It breaks down into 8 materials, with a chance at Cover parts, Base parts, Deflecting parts, Strong components, and Protective components.
