Description

Shimmering honeycomb is a special honeycomb in RuneScape 3. It is used at the player-owned farm and the Anachronia Dinosaur Farm. When you feed it to an animal, the animal's next offspring has a better chance of being born shiny. It does not work on animals that are still in their egg stage.

This honeycomb is normally made by putting golden roses into a beehive at the Manor Farm. The honey takes about one hour to be ready, and you need level 80 Farming to harvest it. Each harvest gives 200 Farming experience. You must have insect repellent in your inventory or on your tool belt, or you will take 20 life points of damage and get nothing. It can also be made by combining 60 honeycomb shards at Farming level 1.

Shimmering honeycomb is tradeable, stackable, and weighs nothing. It can be disassembled for Simple parts or, more rarely, Variable components. Feeding one of each honeycomb type to a farm animal, including this one, unlocks the Honey, Honey achievement. It is a handy item for players who want shiny animals without long waits at the beehive.
