Yew logs are a popular training item in RuneScape 3. Players cut them from yew trees, which needs level 70 Woodcutting and gives 187.5 experience per log. Yew logs are also the highest logs that free-to-play players can get.

Yew logs are great for Firemaking. At level 60, burning one gives 202.5 experience. On a bonfire, that goes up to 260 experience, and up to 270.5 when more players use the same bonfire. A lit yew log burns for about 5 minutes.

Yew logs also work well for Fletching. At level 65, one log makes an unstrung shortbow for 67.5 experience. At level 69, it makes a yew stock for 50 experience. At level 70, it makes an unstrung shieldbow for 75 experience. Stringing a bow gives the same experience as fletching it.

Yew logs can also power the balloon transport system, giving 4 charges per log. They are tradeable, noteable, and can be disassembled. Buying yew logs saves time, since yew tree spots are often crowded and cutting them yourself is slow. A full stock of logs means fast, steady skill training.
