Description
Yew roots are a farming item in RuneScape 3. They come from a yew tree grown in a tree farming patch. Growing the tree takes level 60 Farming. You cannot get these roots from a wild yew tree. They only come from digging up a farmed yew tree stump with a spade.
Yew roots have several uses. They can be turned into supercompost for Farming. They can be made into crossbow strings for Fletching. Their best use is in Herblore. Yew roots are the second ingredient in antipoison+ (4). This needs level 68 Herblore and gives 155 Herblore experience.
Growing yew roots yourself takes time. You must plant a seed, wait for a sapling, plant it in a tree patch, and wait for the tree to grow. Then you chop the tree down and dig up the stump. Buying yew roots skips all of that work.
Yew roots can also be disassembled for Invention. They have a 98.9% junk chance and give mostly Organic parts, with a small chance of Crafted parts, Living components, Healthy components, or Enhancing components. Each root gives 0.1 disassembly experience.
