Description

The crossbow string is a Fletching item in RuneScape 3. You use it to string unstrung crossbows and turn them into finished weapons. It works on every crossbow type in the game, from the bronze crossbow at level 9 Fletching up to the dragon crossbow at level 94 and the primal crossbow at level 103.

Making these strings yourself takes time. You need level 10 Crafting and a spinning wheel, plus sinew or tree roots. Free players can only spin sinew, since tree roots are a members material. Buying strings skips this step so you can focus on Fletching training instead.

Each crossbow you string gives Fletching experience. A rune crossbow gives 50 XP at level 69, and a dragon crossbow gives 100 XP at level 94. Stringing crossbows is a simple way to level the skill or make weapons for Ranged combat.

The string weighs almost nothing at 0.002 kg, so a full stack is easy to carry. It can also be disassembled for Invention, giving Simple parts most of the time. Stock up on crossbow strings and keep your Fletching training moving without stops to gather sinew or roots.
