The Kappa is a Mythical pet in Grow a Garden. It hatches from the Zen Egg with a 3.5% chance. It was added on July 19, 2025 as part of the Zen Update. The Kappa has a green body, a yellow beak, and brown-black hair. It wears a turtle shell on its back.

The Kappa has a passive ability called Water Spirit. It sprays water on all fruits nearby, which gives them the Wet mutation. It also has a chance to replace a Wet mutation on a fruit with the Bloodlit mutation instead. This makes the Kappa a strong pick for players who want to add mutations to their crops. It works like other mutation pets such as the Phoenix, Cockatrice, Swan, and Glimmering Sprite. The Kappa has a hunger stat of 40,000.

The pet is based on the kappa from Japanese folklore. That creature has green skin, a turtle shell, and a dish on its head that holds water. Kappa are linked to rivers and ponds and are known for being mischievous.

Note that after November 29, 2025, the Kappa became trade locked, so it cannot be traded with a Trading Ticket.
