Description

The bird house is a Hunter item in Old School RuneScape. It is used to trap birds on Fossil Island. You need level 5 Hunter to place one and level 5 Crafting to make one. A regular bird house is made with logs and a clockwork, using a hammer and chisel.

Place the bird house in one of the four trap spots on Fossil Island. Two spots are in Verdant Valley, one is in the Mushroom Forest, and one is near the Tar Swamp. Fill the bird house with 10 low level seeds or 5 high level seeds. Hop, herb, flower, bush, and allotment seeds all work.

The trap fills with birds on its own over about 50 minutes. It can hold up to 10 birds. When you empty a full bird house, you get 280 Hunter experience, 10 raw bird meat, and 30 to 60 feathers. The clockwork is always returned. You can also get bird nests, which may hold rings, eggs, seeds, or clue scrolls.

Bird house runs are a fast and easy way to train Hunter. Each run takes only a few minutes, so it fits well between other tasks.
