Raw bird meat is an item in Old School RuneScape with item ID 9978. Players get it from Hunter birds like the Crimson Swift, Golden Warbler, Copper Longtail, Cerulean Twitch, and Tropical Wagtail. Bird houses also give this meat, with each one holding up to 10 pieces. Options range from a regular birdhouse at level 5 up to a redwood birdhouse at level 89.

You cannot eat raw bird meat as it is. To cook it, use an iron spit on the meat to make skewered bird meat. Then use the skewer on a fire to make roast bird meat, which you can eat. Cooking it needs level 11 Cooking and level 20 Firemaking. Each successful cook gives 62 Cooking experience, so it is a nice way to train the skill at low levels.

Even though it comes from Hunter birds, raw bird meat does not count as a Hunter meat. It cannot recharge a quetzal whistle and cannot go in a meat pouch. The item weighs 0.15 kg. It is a good pick for players who want food or easy Cooking experience.
