Description

The black felling axe is a woodcutting tool in Old School RuneScape. You need level 11 Woodcutting to use it and level 10 Attack to wield it. It chops trees at the same speed as a normal black axe.

What makes this axe special is how it works with forester's rations. If you carry rations in your inventory or forestry kit, you get 10% more Woodcutting experience each time you chop a tree. You also have a 20% chance to not receive logs, which keeps your inventory clear for longer trips. Each successful chop uses one ration. Without rations, the axe works just like a regular black axe.

The axe can also be used in combat. It gives a +10 slash bonus, a +8 crush bonus, and a +12 strength bonus. It has four attack styles: chop, hack, smash, and block.

Players make this axe by using a felling axe handle on a black axe at an anvil with a hammer. This needs level 11 Smithing and cannot be undone. The axe stays tradeable, so you can buy one and skip the work. It is a solid pick for low level players training Woodcutting.
