Description
The Blue wizard hat is a low-level magic hat in Old School RuneScape. It goes in the head slot and gives a +2 Magic attack bonus and a +2 Magic defence bonus. It has no other combat bonuses. This makes it a good pick for new mages who want a small boost while training Magic.
The hat is tradeable, equipable, and noteable, but it does not stack. Its examine text reads "A silly pointed hat." Players can make one with level 1 Crafting by using Blue dye on a Wizard hat, which gives 2.5 XP. It can also be dyed black to make a black wizard hat.
In the game, the hat drops from Imps and from Wizards at level 9. It can also come from beginner Reward caskets and Elaborate lockboxes. Shops that sell it include Betty's Magic Emporium in Port Sarim, the Fancy Clothes Store in Varrock, and Regath's Wares in Arceuus.
The hat is also needed for some Treasure Trails clue steps in the Easy and Medium tiers, so many players keep one on hand for clue hunting.
