Description

The Bone dagger (p++) is a stab weapon in Old School RuneScape. It carries the strongest tier of weapon poison. When the dagger hits, the poison deals extra damage over time. It has no Attack or Strength level needed, so any player can wield it.

The dagger has +5 stab attack, +3 slash, and +4 Strength, the same stats as an iron dagger. It attacks once every 2.4 seconds. Its real power is the Backstab special attack. Backstab uses 75% special attack energy and cannot miss, as long as the target has not been damaged yet. It also lowers the target's Defence level by the amount of damage dealt. You must finish the quest Death to the Dorgeshuun to use the special attack.

Players love this dagger as an opener in Tombs of Amascut. It lands a sure first hit on high Defence bosses like Kephri, which helps a lot in higher invocations. After an August 2025 update, the special also guarantees the first hit against Duke Sucellus, Phantom Muspah, and Doom of Mokhaiotl. It is a cheap tool that gives a strong start to tough fights.
