Description
Dark fishing bait is an item in Old School RuneScape. Players use it to catch dark crabs. You need a lobster pot and at least level 85 Fishing to use it. Each catch uses one piece of bait.
Dark crabs can only be caught in the Wilderness. If you fish in the Resource Area, you can use Piles to note your crabs for 50 coins each. This lets you stay and fish for longer trips.
Dark fishing bait is stackable and tradeable, and it weighs nothing. This makes it easy to carry a large amount in one inventory slot. In the game, the bait is dropped by monsters found in the Wilderness. These include Ankou, Dark warriors, Bandits, Mammoths, Elder Chaos druids, and Wilderness Zombies. Bosses like Artio, Calvar'ion, Spindel, Vet'ion, Venenatis, and Callisto also drop it, often in large amounts. It also spawns in the western Ruins in the Wilderness.
