Description
The Desert goat horn is an item in Old School RuneScape. Goats and billy goats in the Kharidian Desert always drop one horn when killed. The horn's main use is in Herblore. When you grind it with a pestle and mortar, it turns into goat horn dust. At level 36 Herblore, you can mix the dust with a harralander and a vial of water to make a combat potion.
Players who want horns often hunt the goats just west of the bank in Nardah. The desert heat can hurt you there, so full desert clothing with a circlet of water or waterskins helps. The desert amulet 4 blocks the heat completely. If you finish the Easy Desert Diary, desert goats drop their horns in noted form, which saves trips to the bank.
Other monsters drop noted horns too. The thermonuclear smoke devil can drop 50, the Corporeal Beast can drop 120, and locust riders and scarab mages can drop 6 at a time. The horn weighs 0.453 kg and has item ID 9735. Its in-game description says it is not much good for blowing.
