Description
The pestle and mortar is a tool in RuneScape 3 used to grind items into dust. It is used mainly in the Herblore skill, where ground items serve as ingredients for making potions. It can also grind many other items for quests and other skills.
This tool can crush a long list of items. It grinds chocolate bars into chocolate dust, blue dragon scales into dragon scale dust, and unicorn horns into ground unicorn horn. It also turns anchovies into anchovy paste, garlic into garlic powder, sandstone into extra fine sand, bird's nests into crushed nest, and desert goat horns into goat horn dust. Ground items like these are common secondary ingredients for potions such as weapon poison and cure poison.
The pestle and mortar is stored on the tool belt in RuneScape 3, so it does not take up backpack space. The item is tradeable, noteable, and can be disassembled. It weighs only 0.056 kg. It is a free-to-play item and is not a quest item. It was added to the game on 27 February 2002 and has been a key Herblore tool ever since.
