Description
Emerald bolts are crossbow ammo in Old School RuneScape. They are mithril bolts tipped with emerald. You need level 36 Ranged and a mithril crossbow or better to fire them. They are members-only items. They stack in your inventory, so you can carry thousands in one slot. Each bolt gives a ranged attack bonus of +85.
These bolts can be made with the Fletching skill. At level 58 Fletching, you can attach emerald bolt tips to mithril bolts. Making 10 bolts gives 55 Fletching experience.
The real value comes from enchanting them. With level 27 Magic, you can cast Enchant Crossbow Bolt (Emerald) to turn 10 bolts into emerald bolts (e). Enchanted emerald bolts have a special effect called Magical Poison. It has a 55% chance to poison your target for 5 damage, which is stronger than super poison. Low-level PKers love these bolts for that reason. They are also popular at the Corporeal Beast, where players use them to stun the Dark energy core.
