Description
The Granite shield is a heavy shield made of granite in Old School RuneScape. It needs 50 Defence and 50 Strength to equip. It is a members-only item.
This shield is best known for its strong Ranged defence. It gives a +65 Ranged defence bonus, which is much higher than the Rune kiteshield's +46. That makes it a smart pick when you fight monsters that attack with ranged, like aviansies and dagganoths. Its other defence bonuses are Stab +40, Slash +42, Crush +38, and Magic +0.
The shield has the same defensive stats as the Toktz-ket-xil, but without the +5 Strength bonus. Because of that, it is not a common choice for melee fights. Its melee defence is a bit lower than the Rune kiteshield, and it is heavier too.
The Granite shield pairs well with full granite armour and the granite maul for a matching set. Fun fact, its shape looks a lot like the real island of Gran Canaria. In the game, it drops at rare rarity from ice trolls and troll bosses like Kraka, Pee Hat, Stick, Rock, and the Troll General.
