The Hard leather shield is a members-only shield in Old School RuneScape. It is a solid oak shield covered in hard leather. To wear it, you need level 20 Ranged and level 10 Defence. This makes it a good early shield for rangers who want extra protection.

The shield gives a +2 Ranged attack bonus, so it helps rather than hurts your ranged combat. Its defence bonuses are +8 Stab, +7 Slash, +7 Crush, +5 Magic, and +9 Ranged. It does lower melee and magic attack stats, with -15 Stab, -15 Slash, -11 Crush, and -10 Magic. It weighs 7 kg.

Players can also make this shield with level 41 Crafting. You use an oak shield on two pieces of hard leather while holding 15 bronze nails and a hammer. Making it gives 70 Crafting experience and takes about 3 seconds.
