Description
The hardleather body is a low level Ranged armour piece in Old School RuneScape. It goes in the torso slot. You need level 1 Ranged and level 10 Defence to wear it. It gives better protection from melee, Magic, and Ranged attacks than the basic leather body. It also adds a small boost to Ranged accuracy with a +8 Ranged attack bonus.
Its defence bonuses are +12 Stab, +15 Slash, +18 Crush, +6 Magic, and +15 Ranged. It has a small Magic penalty of -4. This makes it a solid pick for new rangers who want more defence early in the game.
The hardleather body is also useful for Treasure Trails. Some easy and medium clue scroll steps ask you to wear one while doing an emote, such as near the Sawmill operator or inside Hickton's Archery Emporium in Catherby.
The item is tradeable and can be noted. Players can craft it at level 28 Crafting using hard leather and thread for 35 experience. It also drops from Kalphite Workers and can appear in beginner reward caskets. Its examine text says it is harder than normal leather.
