Description

The Leather body is a basic piece of ranged armour in Old School RuneScape. It only needs 1 Ranged to equip, so any player can wear it. It is free-to-play and tradeable. The examine text says it best: "Better than no armour!"

This body gives +2 to ranged attack and solid defence for a starter item. It has +8 stab, +9 slash, +10 crush, +4 magic, and +9 ranged defence. It does take a small -2 hit to magic attack.

Players can craft one at level 14 Crafting with 1 leather and 1 thread for 25 XP. Members with level 41 Crafting can add steel studs to turn it into a studded body for 40 XP. Charlie the Tramp may also ask for one during a beginner clue scroll step, so it is handy to keep around.

The Leather body drops from H.A.M. Members, H.A.M. Guards, Ogre Coffins, and Skeletons in Tarn's Lair. Shops like Thessalia's Fine Clothes in Varrock and Aaron's Archery Appendages at the Ranging Guild sell it too. It is a simple, useful pick for new rangers and clue hunters.
