Description

The hunter's spear is a thrown weapon in Old School RuneScape. It needs level 55 Ranged and 30 Strength to equip. It is a rare kind of ranged weapon because it uses your melee strength bonuses to work out how much ranged damage you deal. It has a +73 ranged attack bonus, a +48 melee strength bonus, and a +1 prayer bonus. Ava's devices work with it.

The spear is also a great Hunter tool. When equipped, it works like a teasing stick and gives a 5% better chance that teased creatures walk into a pitfall trap. The spear is not used up when teasing. It can hunt Stymphikes with a 100% success chance, and it is not consumed when attacking chinchompas to speed up and reset their spawns. It can also be stored in the Huntsman's kit.

It has three attack styles. Accurate gives extra Ranged experience, Rapid attacks faster, and Longrange adds more range and extra Defence experience. Players with level 60 Fletching can make five spears at a time from one teak log, five jerboa tails, and five hunter spear tips. Its look is based on a real Aztec spear called the tepoztopilli.
