Description
The Jerboa tail is a Hunter item in Old School RuneScape. It comes from embertailed jerboas, which need level 39 Hunter to catch. Each jerboa always drops one tail.
Jerboa tails have a handy use as bait when hunting pyre foxes. The bait gives a 3% bonus to your catch rate. If you also use a lit torch on the trap, you get an extra 2% bonus, for a total of 5%. This bonus stacks with the Guild hunter outfit, so it is a smart pick for players training Hunter on pyre foxes.
The tails are also a crafting item. With a knife, one set of teak logs, five hunter spear tips, and five jerboa tails, players at level 60 can make five hunter's spears. During the At First Light quest, a jerboa tail is used with a smooth leaf and a sticky leaf to make a poultice for Guild Hunter Fox. It also helps repair the bed of Guild Hunter Kiko.
Buying jerboa tails saves time spent hunting jerboas. Players can stock up and get right to catching pyre foxes or making spears.
