Description
Iron nails are a stackable, members-only item in Old School RuneScape. Players make them by using an iron bar on an anvil with a hammer in their inventory. This needs level 19 Smithing and gives 15 iron nails plus 25 Smithing experience per bar. They can also be bought from shops like the Sawmill and the Shipyard, or picked up in sets of ten from the workbench north of the tanner in the Kebos Lowlands.
These nails have several uses. In Construction, they help build certain types of wooden furniture. With 18 Fletching, players can use them on flighted ogre arrows to make iron brutal arrows, which gives 2.6 Fletching experience per arrow. With 56 Crafting, fifteen iron nails can be combined with a willow shield and two pieces of snakeskin to craft a snakeskin shield. This gives 100 Crafting experience per shield.
Iron nails are tradeable and weigh nothing, so a large stack takes up just one inventory space. They are a smart pick for players training Construction, Fletching, or Crafting who want to skip the work of smithing each batch themselves.
