Buy OSRS Iron platebody

Description

The iron platebody is a melee chest armour in Old School RuneScape. It has no Defence level requirement, so any player can wear it. This makes it the best platebody for new players who are just starting out. Its stats sit between bronze and steel, and it gives more protection than an iron chainbody.

This armour gives +21 Stab, +20 Slash, +12 Crush, and +20 Ranged defence. Like all platebodies, it lowers Ranged and Magic accuracy, with -30 Magic and -15 Ranged attack bonuses. It works best for melee fighters who do not need to cast spells or shoot arrows.

Players with level 33 Smithing can make one by using 5 iron bars on an anvil while carrying a hammer. This gives 125 Smithing experience. The platebody can also be bought from Horvik's Smithy or Zenesha's Plate Mail Body Shop. Ironman players can get a version with the same stats from the Ironman tutor in Lumbridge.

The iron platebody is tradeable, equipable, and noteable. It weighs about 10 kg. Its examine text says it provides excellent protection, and it has been in the game since January 2001.
