The Maple shortbow is a two-handed Ranged weapon in Old School RuneScape. You need level 30 Ranged to wield it. It is the best bow that free-to-play players can use, which makes it a top pick for training Ranged on a free account.

This bow has a ranged attack bonus of +29 and weighs 1.36 kg. It can fire arrows up to adamant, but it cannot use broad arrows. It has three combat styles. Accurate gives extra Ranged experience and shoots every 2.4 seconds. Rapid shoots faster, every 1.8 seconds. Longrange gives extra Defence experience and adds two tiles of range, reaching 9 tiles instead of 7.

Players can also make this bow with the Fletching skill. At level 50 Fletching, use a bow string on an unstrung maple shortbow to string it. This gives 50 Fletching experience. The unstrung bow is made by using a knife on maple logs, which also needs level 50 Fletching and gives 50 experience.
