Description
Molten glass is a key crafting material in Old School RuneScape. It is used in the Crafting and Construction skills, and it is also needed for quests like Observatory Quest, Horror from the Deep, Wanted!, Desert Treasure I, Another Slice of H.A.M. and The Fremennik Exiles.
With a glassblowing pipe, each piece of molten glass can be turned into one glass item. Players can make beer glasses at level 1 Crafting, vials at level 33, unpowered orbs at level 46, lantern lenses at level 49, and empty light orbs at level 87. Vials can be filled with liquid to make potions, and unpowered orbs can be charged into elemental orbs. In Construction, molten glass is used for bedroom hairdressers and skill rooms.
Blowing glass is a common way to train Crafting. At peak speed, a player can craft just over 1800 glass items in one hour. Molten glass cannot be bought in any shop, so getting a stack saves the work of gathering sand and soda ash and melting them at a furnace. A supply of molten glass lets players skip straight to crafting experience and useful glass items.
