This necklace is an upgraded version of the necklace of anguish. It is made by combining the necklace of anguish with an etched elder venator fang. The fang comes from the untradeable elder venator fang, which drops from the Maggot King. Making the necklace takes level 84 Crafting and uses up one necklace of anguish and one etched elder venator fang.
Ranged players want this item because it beats every other necklace for ranged combat. The extra attack and strength bonuses help you hit more often and hit harder with a bow or crossbow. The prayer bonus also helps your prayer points last longer in a fight.
The item was first called the necklace of pursuit. The name was changed to match other upgraded zenyte jewellery, like the amulet of rancour and confliction gauntlets.
