Description
The Needle is a small tool in Old School RuneScape. It is used with thread to make armour from leather and dragon leather with the Crafting skill. It is stackable, tradeable, and weighs nothing, so it is easy to carry.
Players use the needle to craft many items. It can make leather armour sets, dragonhide bodies and chaps, snakeskin armour, splitbark armour, Xerician robes, yak-hide armour, lunar equipment, mixed hide armour, and Hueycoatl hide armour. It also makes fur and meat pouches and other clothing. The needle can be combined with other items to make a Golden needle or an Abyssal needle.
The needle is needed in many quests too. These include Elemental Workshop I, Creature of Fenkenstrain, Ghosts Ahoy, Spirits of the Elid, Freeing Pirate Pete in Recipe for Disaster, Lunar Diplomacy, Getting Ahead, and At First Light.
Anyone training Crafting will want a needle on hand. It is a basic tool, but it opens the door to a huge range of leather and hide gear. After the Death on the Isle quest, a Costume needle can even craft without thread.
