Description

The Oak bird house is an item in Old School RuneScape used for bird house trapping on Fossil Island. Placing one in a bird house space needs level 14 Hunter. Once placed, it becomes an oak birdhouse trap that catches birds on its own while you do other things.

To arm the trap, fill the birdhouse with seeds. You can use 10 low level seeds or 5 high level seeds, such as hop, herb, flower, bush, or allotment seeds. After about 50 minutes the birdhouse is full. Emptying it gives 420 Hunter experience.

Each full birdhouse always gives 1 clockwork, 10 raw bird meat, and 30 to 60 feathers. You can also get bird nests, which may hold seeds or clue scrolls. A higher Hunter level gives more nests. At level 14, a run gives about 2.9 nests on average. At level 99, that goes up to about 8.1 nests.

Players can also craft this item at level 15 Crafting. It takes 1 oak log and 1 clockwork, plus a chisel and hammer, and gives 20 Crafting experience. It is a simple way to train Hunter with almost no effort.
