Description
The oak shortbow is a ranged weapon in Old School RuneScape. It is stronger than the standard shortbow and can fire arrows up to steel. You only need level 5 Ranged to wield it, so it is a good early weapon for training. It has a ranged attack bonus of +14.
The bow has three combat styles. Accurate shoots every 2.4 seconds and gives extra Ranged experience. Rapid shoots faster at every 1.8 seconds. Longrange shoots every 2.4 seconds, reaches 9 tiles instead of 7, and gives extra Defence experience.
Players can also make this bow with the Fletching skill. At level 20 Fletching, use a knife on oak logs to cut an unstrung oak shortbow for 16.5 experience. Then add a bow string for another 16.5 experience. Fletching an oak shortbow in the Tree Gnome Stronghold is a task in the Easy Western Provinces Diary.
