Description
Potato cactus is an item in Old School RuneScape. It is a secondary ingredient for the Herblore skill. Players use it to make magic potions at level 76 Herblore and battlemage potions at level 80 Herblore. Magic potions give 172.5 XP and battlemage potions give 155 XP.
Potato cactus has more uses too. It can be one of the items asked for in the Fairytale I - Growing Pains quest and Mourning's End Part II. Eight of them can pay Taylor to watch over a Celastrus tree. Collecting five inside the Kalphite Lair is a task for the Easy Desert Diary. It can also go in a compost bin to make normal compost.
Players can grow potato cactus at level 64 Farming by planting a seed in a cactus patch in Al Kharid or the Farming Guild. Growing takes about 70 minutes, and each pick gives 68 experience. Finding it in the Kalphite Lair means fighting past dangerous kalphites, so buying it saves time and effort.
