Description

The rainbow fish is a members-only food item in Old School RuneScape. Eating one restores 11 Hitpoints. This makes it a handy food choice for mid-level players who need to heal during quests, training, or fights.

In the game, rainbow fish are caught with a fly fishing rod at river spots, like the one near Barbarian Village or in Shilo Village. Catching one needs level 38 Fishing and stripy feathers as bait, which come from the Hunter skill. Each catch gives 80 Fishing experience. Cooking a raw rainbow fish needs level 35 Cooking and gives 110 experience. At level 63 Cooking, the fish will never burn.

Raw rainbow fish also work as bait for barb-tailed kebbits in the Feldip Hunter area. This makes them useful for Hunter training too, not just for food.

The rainbow fish is tradeable and noteable, so it is easy to carry in large amounts as notes. It is not stackable or equipable. Despite the name, the fish only has four colours: yellow, turquoise, dark blue, and grey. Its examine text calls it a colourful fish, attracted to colourful flies.
