Description

Raw rainbow fish is a members-only fish in Old School RuneScape. Players catch it with a fly fishing rod at river fishing spots, like the ones near Barbarian Village or Shilo Village. It needs level 38 Fishing and stripy feathers as bait. Each catch gives 80 Fishing experience.

This fish has more than one use. You can cook it on a fire or range at level 35 Cooking. This makes a cooked rainbow fish that heals 11 Hitpoints when eaten. Cooking it gives 110 Cooking experience. At level 63 Cooking, you will never burn it. You can also use raw rainbow fish as bait for barb-tailed kebbits in the Feldip Hunter area. Catching one needs level 33 Hunter and gives 168 Hunter experience.

Rainbow fish are slow to catch, even though they give more Fishing experience than trout or salmon. Buying them saves time for players who want food or Hunter bait without the long grind. The item is tradeable and noteable, so it is easy to store and move. Its examine text reads: "A colourful fish, attracted to colourful flies."
