Description

Raw halibut is a members-only fish in Old School RuneScape. It is caught from halibut shoals out at sea while deep sea trawling. Catching one needs level 83 Fishing. A trawling net gives 195.5 Fishing experience per catch, while a fishing rod gives 39.1. Raw halibut can also show up from shimmering and glistening shoals, which need level 69 and 76 Fishing.

Raw halibut is great for Cooking training. Cooking it needs level 83 Cooking and gives 212.5 experience per fish. A failed cook makes a burnt halibut instead. Raw halibut can also be turned into fine fish offcuts, which help players catch more fish while trawling. Ten raw halibut can be added to an empty fish crate to make a fish crate of halibut.

Catching raw halibut yourself takes time. Players need a boat, a trawling net, and must match the depth of the shoal as it moves. Buying raw halibut skips all of that, so players can jump straight into Cooking training and stock up on food.

Raw halibut is tradeable and noteable. It is not stackable and cannot be equipped. It weighs 0.7 kg and is not a quest item.
