Description

Raw trout is a fish in Old School RuneScape. Players catch it by fly fishing at rod fishing spots in rivers. Catching one needs a Fishing level of 20 and gives 50 Fishing experience. Fly fishing uses a fly fishing rod and feathers, and it can also catch salmon at the right level. This method is a common way to train Fishing all the way to level 99.

Raw trout can be cooked into trout with a Cooking level of 15. Each success gives 70 Cooking experience. Players stop burning trout at level 49 on a range or level 50 on a fire. The Lumbridge cooking range lowers the burn chance by 10 percent. This makes raw trout a popular food for training Cooking at low and mid levels.

Popular fishing spots include Barbarian Village, Lumbridge, Shilo Village, and the river west of the Fishing Guild. Charlie the Tramp may also ask for a raw trout during a beginner clue scroll step.

Raw trout is free to play, tradeable, and noteable. It is not stackable and cannot be equipped. Its item ID is 335.
