Description
The Ring of stone is a members-only ring in Old School RuneScape. It is an enchanted onyx ring. When you wear it, you can turn your character into a stone or an empty mining rock. If you move, the effect ends, and the ring unequips itself when you change back. Other players can still see your normal options when they click on you.
The ring gives no combat bonuses or penalties. It is made by enchanting an onyx ring with the Magic skill. This needs level 87 Magic, 1 cosmic rune, 20 fire runes, and 20 earth runes. The enchant gives 97 Magic experience.
The Ring of stone has a special use in the King's Ransom quest. It can replace a piece of granite to free King Arthur, as long as you also bring the animate rock scroll and the Holy Grail.
As of 30 June 2026, transformation rings like this one can no longer be used to dodge boss freezes, such as the Sarachnis web attack or the Hespori snare. The ring is tradeable, equipable, and noteable, but not stackable. Its item ID is 6583.
