Description

Ruby dragon bolts are strong crossbow ammo in Old School RuneScape. You need level 64 Ranged to use them, and they only work with a Dragon crossbow or better. Each bolt gives a +122 Ranged strength bonus. They are members-only, stackable, and weigh nothing.

These bolts can be enchanted with the Enchant Crossbow Bolt (Ruby) spell at level 49 Magic. Enchanted bolts have a chance to trigger the Blood Forfeit effect. This effect removes 20% of the target's current Hitpoints, up to 100 damage, at the cost of 10% of your own Hitpoints. It makes these bolts great against high-Hitpoints bosses like Vorkath and Nex.

The effect has an 11% chance to activate in PvP and 6% in PvM. Finishing the Hard Kandarin Diary raises these to 12.1% and 6.6%. The bolts also pair well with the Zaryte crossbow's special attack, which guarantees the effect with a boost for a max hit of up to 110.

Ruby dragon bolts are made by attaching ruby bolt tips to dragon bolts at level 84 Fletching. Buying them ready to use saves time and supplies, so you can head straight to your next boss fight.
