Description

The rune knife is a fast throwing knife in Old School RuneScape. You need level 40 Ranged to wield it. It is the second strongest throwing knife in the game, with a +25 Ranged attack bonus and +24 Ranged strength.

Throwing knives are among the fastest weapons in OSRS. On the Rapid style, the rune knife attacks every 1.2 seconds. This speed makes it a great pick for training Ranged or for PKing. Many players even choose rune knives over dragon knives in PvP. The throwing animation can be cancelled earlier, so players can move faster and stay unpredictable while attacking.

The rune knife is a one-handed weapon, so you can wield a shield or god book with it for extra protection. It can also be poisoned with Weapon poison, Weapon poison(+), or Weapon poison(++). It weighs nothing, so it is easy to carry in bulk.

Players with 92 Smithing can make rune knives at an anvil. One runite bar makes 5 knives and gives 75 Smithing experience. The rune knife is tradeable on the Grand Exchange, so it is simple to stock up for your next Ranged training trip or PK run.
