Description

The Runite bar is a metal bar in Old School RuneScape. Players use it to smith rune weapons and armour, which are some of the strongest gear pieces in the game. Each bar gives 75 Smithing experience when you forge it into an item on an anvil with a hammer.

Making these bars yourself is hard. You need level 85 Smithing, one runite ore, and 8 coal for each bar at a furnace. Buying runite bars lets you skip the ore grind and get right to smithing.

With enough bars, you can make items like the rune scimitar, rune platebody, rune kiteshield, and the rune 2-handed sword. Members can also make rune dart tips, arrow heads, and throwing knives. A rune platebody takes 5 bars and gives 375 experience, so stocking up on bars is a fast way to train Smithing at high levels.

The runite bar is also needed for the Song of the Elves quest. It is tradeable and noteable, so it is easy to move and sell. If you want fast Smithing XP or strong rune gear, this bar is the key item to have.
