Description
Spiked boots are climbing boots with spikes added to them. They are a members only quest item in Old School RuneScape. You need them during Desert Treasure I to cross the Ice Path and get the Ice diamond. The boots can only be worn on the Ice Path during the quest. If you try to wear them anywhere else, your character will just carry them instead.
To make spiked boots, players bring Dunstan, the blacksmith in Burthorpe, one iron bar and a pair of climbing boots. Dunstan will only help after you finish a required part of the Death Plateau quest. Note that spiked boots do not work in place of climbing boots for climbing over rocks on the mountain path.
The boots give a defence bonus of +2 to slash and +2 to crush. They have no attack bonuses. They are light at about 0.3 kg, and they are both tradeable and noteable. After Desert Treasure I, the boots are not needed for the quest anymore, though they may come up in a step of a master level Treasure Trail. Their examine text reads: "Climbing boots with spikes."
