The steel warhammer is a crush weapon in Old School RuneScape. It is stronger than the iron warhammer and needs only level 5 Strength to wield. That makes it a solid pick for new players who want to train early melee combat.

This warhammer hits with a +18 crush attack bonus. It has three combat styles. Pound trains Attack, Pummel trains Strength, and Block trains Defence. All three styles use crush, so it works well against monsters that are weak to crush attacks.

The steel warhammer also has quest uses. Veliaf Hurtz asks for one during the In Search of the Myreque quest. It can also be used in the Recruitment Drive quest to defeat Sir Leye.
