Description

The abyssal whip is a one-handed melee weapon in RuneScape 3. It needs level 70 Attack to wield. It is a tier 70 slash weapon with 672 ability damage and 1486 accuracy. The whip drops from abyssal demons, which need 85 Slayer to fight.

The whip has a special attack called Energy Drain. It costs 50% adrenaline and hits for 75% to 85% ability damage. If the target is a player, it also drains all of their run energy. This makes the whip a handy tool in player versus player fights.

The abyssal whip can grow into stronger weapons. Add a whip vine to make the abyssal vine whip, a tier 75 weapon. Add a wyrm spike to make the lava whip, a tier 85 weapon. Whips are also used to charge the lava whip so it does not degrade.

Players can paint the whip blue, white, green, or yellow with paint from Barbarian Assault. Before the Evolution of Combat, the abyssal whip was one of the most used weapons by high-level players because of its strong accuracy and damage. It even appears in the max cape emote.
