This shield gives 133.6 armour and a 4.2% damage reduction against monsters. That extra protection helps you take less damage in fights. It is a solid pick for mid-level melee players who want a stronger off-hand defence.
The + 2 version is the top upgrade in its line. A basic adamant kiteshield gives 125.6 armour, and the + 1 version gives 129.6. This one beats both. Making it yourself takes level 40 Smithing, an adamant kiteshield + 1, and 4 more adamant bars at a forge and anvil.
The shield is tradeable, lendable, and noteable. It weighs almost nothing at 0.02 kg, so it will not slow you down. It can also be destroyed to make an adamant burial kiteshield for extra Smithing experience, or taken apart for parts like cover parts and protective components. Skip the smithing grind and get the finished shield instead.
