Description

The Ancient hilt is a rare item in RuneScape 3. It is one of three parts needed to make the Ek-ZekKil, a powerful weapon. The other two parts are the Obsidian blade and the Magma core.

This hilt drops from TzKal-Zuk in hard mode. The drop rate is about 1 in 90, so it can take many kills to get one. TzKal-Zuk is a level 14,000 boss, which makes this one of the hardest drops in the game.

Players with level 95 Divination can also make the hilt with transmutation. This takes 25,000 Incandescent energy plus an Obsidian blade or a Magma core. The hilt can also be turned back into one of those parts the same way.

To make the Ek-ZekKil, combine the Ancient hilt with the Obsidian blade and the Magma core. This needs level 95 Smithing and Crafting and gives 1,200 experience.

The Ancient hilt is tradeable and can be noted. It cannot be worn, disassembled, or alchemised. Its examine text reads: "The hilt of an ancient weapon. The top appears to have melted." It was released on 25 October 2021.
