Description

The Ascension crossbow is a tier 90 Ranged weapon in RuneScape 3. You need level 90 Ranged to wield it. It is one of the best one-handed crossbows in the game, with 2458 accuracy and 864 ability damage. It attacks at the fastest speed and works well with an off-hand Ascension crossbow for dual wielding.

This crossbow can fire all bolts, including Ascension bolts made with 90 Fletching. It is normally crafted by Ocellus, who needs all six Ascension signets from the legiones in the Monastery of Ascension, plus a dragon crossbow and 100 Ascension shards. Getting those signets takes a long time, so buying the crossbow saves many hours of boss fights.

The crossbow degrades in combat like drygore weapons. It has 60,000 charges and loses 2 per hit, so it lasts at least 5 hours of combat before it needs a repair. Repairs cost 2,000,000 coins from Bob, or less on an armour stand based on your Smithing level.

You can also dye it with Barrows, Shadow, Third Age, Blood, Ice, Aurora, or Soul dye. Dyeing is a cosmetic change and makes the crossbow permanently untradeable.
